BroJo Bear

November 5, 2009

If you do what I do, (and it just so happens that I DO do what I do) you are going to draw the same sorts of things over and over and over. When you do that you tend to come up with “go to” characters. I came up with a teddy bear that has made countless appearances in my artwork for the last several years. Button eyes, (one missing) heavy stitching (to show it’s not a real bear) rounded paws.

With the cold weather kicking up again, I find myself sitting in front of the fireplace at night and trying to entertain myself while my wife grades papers. The other day I decided to make a sock version of that little bear I’ve been drawing for all these years.

A great face and like that shade of blue!  One cute lil’ bugger.

Doug Jones

is that a Kolts bear?

The “Ripleys” Guy

I know this is a stupid question, but consider the source….is that bear for sale?

Dennis Jones

…well, this particular bear has a “K” on it because it was part of a fabulous birthday celebration for my wife Karen, but I suppose you could arm wrestle her for it…

Don Jones

Karen gets all the good stuff.

The “Ripleys” Guy

Wouldn’t want to do that! But darn, those things would sell! A good agent could make you a billionaire!

Has the bear made as many “Guest appearances” as the little bird or Twitchy cat?

Don Jones

Mr. Ripley… Billionaire? I don’t believe it! Dennis is already working on making his second million… he gave up on the first one.
