…our hero, Jeff Saturday…
I finally got around to reinstalling the drivers for my Wacom Tablet after my system switch, so it’s back up and working again. Last night to make sure it was running right, I piddling around with this old sketch of Jeff Saturday. Did you hear Indianapolis won the SuperBowl this year? Have I mentioned I live in Indiana and am a Colts fan? I have? Oh. Sorry…
Jeff Saturday is the real deal. I recently read a magazine article about his faith in Christ along with other born-again Colts. Amen.
Indianapolis Coats? Is that what you wear up there in the winter? Say… what kind of computer maitenance are we supposed to be doing? Did the tech guy tell you?
…I believe offensive juggernaut center/runningback Jeff Saturday scored the go-ahead touchdown in the AFC Championship game this year… the only game of the season I DIDN’T get to see… aARrrrrgh…
…yes Doug, I have several Indianapolis Winter Coats in my closet downstairs… they come in handy as I shovel snow… again… and again… and again…
…computer maintenance… I’m not really too sure what we are supposed to be doing… all I know about a computer is that when I punch the button on the front a little blue light comes on and it starts working…
I think the tech guy maybe de-fragged the hard drive and re-dejuggulated the fraxamazoid… something like that…
I bet he had to pull out the defibulators as well…
…I do seem to remember him slapping a couple of paddles onto the sides of my computer and yelling clear… but I thought he was just trying to jump start it…
I hope he didn’t damage the flux capacitor when he did that…
…yes, it was a risky move, but the only other thing that could generate that much power is a bolt of lightning and it’s impossible to determine when and where they will strike…
That is very true… unless you have the BrotherJones lightning predictor. Available for $9.95….
…I am offering (for a limited time only) an “earth-friendly” Brother Jones Lightning Predictor made exclusively out of gourds… it also predicts whether you are global warming or not…
Didn’t Al Gore have one of those that didn’t work? He got hit with 50 jigawatts of lightning and never was the same…. … except he did put on a few pounds…
…this is true, Doug… the “earth friendly” Brother Jones Lightning Predictor doesn’t actually work… but that’s not important… it’s the good intentions that count… and I certainly intended for it to work…
Nice use of shadows inside the helmet and I like the color combos. Yer Wacoming skills are getting better.
Hi Dennis…….a new fan from South Africa..maybe the same age!! My question…what is the average size of your artwork you work on?
…thanks RobalLOO…
…Doug from South Africa… the size of most of the professional work I do runs around 8×10 to 12×18 depending on what the job calls for… (right now I’m doing posters that run 18×24 in size)… most of the Wacom things that I do are just for fun and all come out of my 8×11 sketchbook…

I seem to be falling into an “only draw the Colts” rut… but I don’t have a problem with that since it has been scientifically proven that they are the best team in the league without question… ever. I still can’t believe Peyton won a Super Bowl last year and his little brother Eli won it the next… what a story.
best team ever … except for the ‘69 Chiefs. This guy has some major ‘ceps. woah.
…no, I’m sorry Don… a team of renowned football scientists who are much, much smarter than us have reached a consensus on this subject and determined the Colts to be the best team ever… who are we to question their conclusions on this subject? …we must simply accept what they say and act on it as fact…
That is merely “the Man” trying to keep us in our place. We must rise up and with one voice and declare that all Hoosiers and Hicks are football lovers too!
…Don… how dare you call into question the consensus opinion of football scientists… every single one in the whole world agrees that the Colts are the best team ever, so it must be true… I believe I even saw something about this on the NFL Channel… if it’s on TV it has to be true…
on the other hand, the Dallas Plowboys, in double blind testing were the only team to choke on a sack of mini marshmallows..
…hmm …well, ok Jeff, I guess you cannot argue with the scientificness of the double blind test…
Colts?… Colts?… that sounds like it should be a team from Kentucky- horse country. The name SHOULD be the Indy Hoosiers. Then you could go to games and yell… “Hoosier Daddy?”
I love to draw football players. Can’t wait for the new season!
The colts are the greatest! The way football should be played. Best coach! Best wide receivers! And lets not forget……the coolest nnames! Peyton, marvin, Dallas and Fern Blanston! Nobody wraps a bum toe or fills a cup like Fern!
If Al says it… then it is so. Just remember, he invented the internets.
…now yer thinkin’ right…

Man, I don’t know if it’s AlGore’s global warming or what, but the horseflies up here this season are just huge… and biters to boot…
Love them stains on your knee… I usually wear mine on my shirt so folks can see them better… Awesome critter… I want to come see your zoo whenever it opens… And congrats to Don for trash talking the Patriots for a solid two weeks! woo…
…I’m trying harder to look like a professional so I made sure today I found a shirt with coffee stains on it that matched my pants…
…I guess Don really, REALLY doesn’t like them patriots… (small “p” on patriots for added insult to them) …I’ve been trying to make up for his lack of posts by posting every single day here… I’ll post anything… all I need is a picture and a sentence and I’m good to go… next week I’m going to post my current favorite snack foods…

Nice to see some new art again. Ahhhh…
Aaron
Dennis, I believe I have a Christian childrens book, illustrated by you. I think it tells the story of Jonah and the Whale, if I remember correctly. Anyways, I’m pumped I’ve been able to find your blog and see more of your stuff. I’ve been attached to your style of drawing for quite some time, and I especially like your drawings of sports figures. Is there a more underrated center than Jeff Saturday? Favre’s head jammed into the back of his helmet? Brilliant. – Aaron (P.S. Go Redskins!)
Dennis Jones
…wasn’t Jeff Saturday a walk on? …I think he has some sort of interesting story like that… I listen to a radio station in Indianapolis and have heard him talking to the afternoon team… he sounds like a pretty nice guy…
Doug Jones
Hey Aaron… I just took a look at your blog… fun stuff! The Cars windshield screen is a brilliant idea!
Dennis Jones
…yep, nice work Aaron… I alway forget to go look at visitors websites until my brothers remind me that I can do that…
Doug Jones
did you take your vitamins today, Den?
Aaron
Fellas, I appreciate the comments. I was thinking of ideas of ways in which I could fashion a Cars windshield shade out of an existing one. I have a friend that works up at Pixar and he says the product is not in the works, and he doesn’t know why. It makes perfect sense…. Silly question: Did you fellas go to art school? Or have you been just drawing and developing your styles your whole lives? Thanks again for the comments, – Aaron
Doug Jones
Art school… what’s that?
Don Jones
Aaron, instead of art school the three of us attended Reform School. Upon graduation we joined the artistic work force and have been laboring at the grindstone ever since. We no longer have noses. But you may want the other brother’s version of our rich family art heritage.
Dennis Jones
…hey… dont sell Cecil’s House For Wayward Young People short now, Don…
Aaron
You guys are too much. So no art school? Just turned a hobby / passion into a career? Side question: Do you play fantasy football?
Doug Jones
you might check out our bios for more background info… if you can figure it out. I know in my case, this is the only thing I am capable of doing. The temp is over 100 degrees today so roofing is definitely out as a career. fantasy football? fantasy football? Slowly I turned… step by step… inch by inch…
Don Jones
Aaron… if you get us going on fantasy football… our comments are sure to OVERLOAD. YES!! we play fantasy football. We created it. The much aligned AWFFL Another Worthless Fantasy Football League.
Dennis Jones
…we were playing fantasy football with fax machines years before Al Gore single handedly invented the internet…
Doug Jones
Right after he put the finishing touches to the internet, Big Al started to work creating Global Warming… did a great job judging by today’s temperature…
Dennis Jones
…that reminds me, Doug… did you ever start reading “State Of Fear”?
Doug Jones
good timing, Den. Yesterday was the used book sale at the local library. I walked out with a practically new hardback copy of that book for 4 bucks and a Beatles Abbey Road album for 50 cents. This is a fund raiser for the library. Folks donate old stuff and they have a sale 4 times a year. You never know what you will find there. I saw a girl pull a Sgt Peppers album out of a box so I looked and found the Abbey Road album.
Dennis Jones
…ahhh you just cant beat the high-end audio experience of listening to music on a thirty year old piece of hi-quality vinyl …todays crummy digital music just has not got the same character without the miscellaneous pops and scratches inserted randomly into the songs like a record album has.
…were Sgt. Peppers lonely hearts club (hic) hearts club (hic) hearts clubSSscckKREAaachhh band
Doug Jones
I was wondering what an Abbey Road album would go for on eBay. If I got a buck for it… I’d double my money!
Doug Jones
why do I have the feeling that IGOTNOTHIN’ Monday is going to become IGOTNOTHIN’ August? 🙂
Dennis Jones
…IGOTNOTHIN” AUGUST…. that’s a GREAT idea!
