GourdWeek6

And you thought this was over yesterday. It’s gourd week I tell you… gourd… WEEK… thats WEEK as in SEVEN! Seven full days of gourd week festivities! What did you think this was anyway, some sort of made up internet hoax kind of thing? It’s Gourd Week people! GOURD WEEK!

Taking the Official Brother Jones GOURD WEEK into overtime which means the weekend… A L R I G H T ! This bugger reminds me of a stitched up baseball from the dark side. Great dark, rich grape stainage… good contrast to the lacing. And to think, Dennis, it took you ‘til the seventh grade to tie your own shoes. You have come a long way.

Doug Jones

this does have that baseball feel to it… steee-rike 4! are you using dyes on these?

Dennis Jones

yes, leather dyes… I used an old watch band for the front strap and the hinge in the back… I keep my guitar picks in this one…

The only thing missing from this unique and quality Christmas Card is typos.

Doug Jones

hmmm…. baseball and Christmas… what a natural combination… why didn’t I think of that?

Keegan Jones

Hahahaha! This comment is a Christmas gift. Print it out on a piece of paper, wrap it, and gently place it under your tree.

Dennis Jones

Keegan… done and done! …thanks for remembering me at Christmas time with this lovely gift…

roballoo

I’ve always enjoyed your hand lettering on your works o’ art, and have wondered for a while how it would translate into a font, but this here font seems to go quite well with the image.

Don Jones

You could have at least added reindeer antlers to that baseball helmet.

Doug Jones

I wuz thinking a red nose on the batter would be appropriate…

Paul Taylor

Dennis- Merry Christmas!! Why didn’t I think of that. each year I rush, run to Kinko’s, and then nearly pass out from licking all those stamps! Seriously, I know your art is mostly towards a spiritual approach, but have you ever thought about doing St. Nick and a Night Before Christmas book or even A Christmas Carol? If you did, I’d be first in line to buy it. Have a Merry Christmas! Paul

Dennis Jones

…thanks, Paul …and Don, the batter does have a red nose… it’s just very subtle…

Don Jones

Doug wanted the red nose… I wanted antlers.

Dennis Jones

…yes …but I wanted to tell YOU that specifically, Don… I don’t know why …I just did…

Doug Jones

Don… the antlers are under the helmet

Don Jones

I also want a white beard on this Weasel homer.

Doug Jones

yeah… and a red suit… get to work Den… chop chop!

Dennis Jones

…but everyone has a custom Christmas card with a fat guy with a white beard in a red suit with antlers… how many have a custom Christmas card with a fat baseball player with a fu manchu mustache and a “let’s gitter done” attitude?…

Don Jones

My card is came out beautifully. I have received many comments about it. It coordinates nicely with my Ball-O-Lights decoration.

Dennis Jones

…Don, I’ve noticed a lot more typos in your comments since you gave up coffee… just something you might want to consider…

Doug Jones

I’m thinking your card will be an odometer with twinkle lights around it… right?

Don Jones

Wishing you 200,000 Merry Christmaseseses! What gives on my speling?

Dennis Jones

…now THAT’S what I’m talkin’ about!

Tiz the Seazon to be Jolly…

2006_12_14_DenXmasCardThe Christmas season for the Jones brothers is one which brings joy and happiness especially when it is time to get the daily mail. Even though the majority of our Christmas cards are addressed to “resident” there still are a few cards that are extra special and drive home the true meaning of Christmas. With the advent of digital technology, on-line Christmas cards have now become a quick and easy way to spread the holiday cheer and save the cost of postage. True to frugal form, Bubba Claus Dennis’ recent Christmas card offering was one which was unique and suitable for framing. If by chance you missed it, click over and print one for yourself and a friend.

Dennis Jones

I sent you the extra large Christmas card!

Don Jones

Yes indeed… and it only used every ounce of my color cartridges to print out. Let’s see… that’s about a $39.45 cent Christmas card!!!

Dennis Jones

…here’s a Dennis Jones Christmas Card Seasonal Printing Tip for you, Don… toss that image on a flash stick, go down to Kinkos and make yourself an 8.5 X 11 card for around 99 cents… hey, treat yourself nice this holiday season and print yourself out two…

Don Jones

I much prefer the over-priced super sized version. “Spare no expense” for holiday items I always say.

Dennis Jones

…you know that print you are holding in your hands will be half price after Christmas…

Doug Jones

Don… head on over to my portfolio page… pick out an image… print it out… add the appropriate type and have yourself another card! you’re welcome…

Dennis Jones

…this online Christmas card stuff is so easy even a caveman could do it!

Doug Jones

I know at least one caveman that would be highly offended by that comment…

Dennis Jones

…you know that latest caveman commercial where he is in the airport and that quirky music is playing in the background… I liked that song so much I tracked it down on the internet and it is now on my heavy music rotation list…

Doug Jones

it’s amazing what you can do on the internets… …I’ll have to listen more closely next time that ad is on, I can’t recall that tune…

New England Video Scandal

April 4, 2008

105RedSox

I don’t claim to be much of a baseball fan, but I think it is just outrageous that the Red Sox illegally videotaped the St. Louis Rams workout before they played each other in the Super Bowl a few years back… that just ain’t right.

The Comments

Don Jones

The Royals are undefeated this season (3-0). The world is coming to an end.

Doug Jones

i think he stripped his gears rounding third…

Jason Bourne

Kool cleats…and shading! I think I see the Target logo.

roballoo

Bullseye!
