Gopher It!

GopherIt

When I was a freshman in college, big Brother Doug took me on my very first ski trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I saw a rental shop there called “Go For It Ski Shop” that had a gopher in it’s logo and I thought that had to be one of the most clever things I had ever seen in my life. Yes, I’m easily impressed…

Was this before you first saw Caddy Shack?

Dennis Jones

…yes it was. After I saw Caddy Shack I decided THAT had to be one of the most clever things I had ever seen in my life… easily impressed…

GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nik

Thats cool.Congrats to the Colts!

Jeff

…4th and 2 deep in my own zone. Late in a game… Go for it??? WHATTTT?? Christmas came early for the colts. Congrats… Meanwhile in the United States of Texas, the plowboys found themselves in a big whole, and forgot to quit digging.

Jeff

Hole Whole,, Same thing right?

Dennis Jones

…going for it on fourth and two on your own 30??? …you don’t even do that when you’re playing Madden Football…

Doug Jones

The motto of the Patriots is “Gopher it!”

Jeff

This too should be the war cry of the Weaselfoot tribe..
Big Chief Tablet..

Dennis Jones

…I love it when we throw in the Indian lingo… DancesWithWeasels

I just realized, I have yet to weigh in on this here blog… I want to ‘go fer it’ and go on record by saying the past Sunday night game between the Colts & Patriots was the BEST game I have ever watched. Bar none.

Jeff

Better than the Texas victory in the Rose bowl?? Really?

Dennis Jones

…better than that classic vibrating football game Dennie and Donnie had between the Chiefs and Raiders back in ‘71? …really?

Jeff

Nothing beats the Vibrabowl.

Dennis Jones

…those vibrating football players had a mind of their own… they liked to run in circles for a while and then gather in the corner of the end zone and celebrate together as the guy with the football ran the wrong way…

Doug Jones

It was fun to tweak those little plastic things under them and try to get them to run straight. And passing… that was a real challenge… hey… what’s your verdict on Community Coffee? It is consumed by some of your family… you like it?

Dennis Jones

…I always hated that metal passing quarterback for the vibrating football game… everything made sense until you pulled out that flat metal Goliath to throw the football with… very unstable…

…I drank one bag of Community Coffee. I can’t remember it being bad, so I’m guessing it must have been pretty good… high praise, eh?

Don Jones

As you recall, Fred Biletnikoff (#25) ran perfect hook patterns after we broke his plastic ankles.

Dennis Jones

…I seem to remember we came up with additional rules to help game play. After the first 3 seconds of play vibration was turned off and we could then turn one or two players in the right direction and then vibration…I mean the game, could resume…

Don Jones

Yes. The stop in vibrating action bode well for us. I also hated the goliath QB/Kicker. His field goals usually ended up in a twenty minute search for the ball in the next room.

Dennis Jones

…he was a mighty good kicker…

Don Jones

… no doubt he was juicin’…

Jeff

Roids…For sure..

Nik

It’s important to have a great kicker….

Jeff

Did you have the flat flex foam ball?

Dennis Jones

…nope …an ole school, magnetic metal football which was definitely a choking hazard…

Don Jones

I liked sucking on it with a little chocolate milk at halftime of our games.
