Championship Mojo

ChampMOJO

What you have heard is true… NFL Championships follow me wherever I go. It doesn’t seem to matter how bad the team is when I arrive in the state, it becomes good when I get there… and then it wins the Super Bowl.

I grew up in the Missouri Ozarks and during that time the Kansas City Chiefs went to two Super Bowls, thanks, (of course), to the fact that I grew up in the state during that time. As you can see, the Dennis Jones Championship Mojo was kicking in even at this early age. I left the state and the Chiefs have never returned to the big game. Sorry Chiefs.

I moved to the Dallas/Ft Worth area the year the Cowboys fired Tom Landry. During my first season in Texas, that team won only one game and lost fifteen. Three Super Bowl wins later I decided it was time for me to move on. I had done about all I could do for the Cowboys. The team fell apart when I left the state. Sorry Dallas.

When we moved to Indiana, the Colts were another one win, fifteen loss team. Anyone that pays attention to football knows how much I have improved the team since moving into the state. Is this the year the Colts move past New England to claim the Vince Lombardi Trophy?

I believe my track record speaks for itself.

I was all pumped for some Monday Night Preseason football last night… but to no avail. I ended up watching The Titans movie deal. I took a straw vote and you’re out of the Hall of Fame. Did you notice our draft is set for a week after the season starts?

Dennis Jones

hmmm… no I didn’t… thats different… but I still like the way there is a playoff at the end…

Doug Jones

I need some help… can one of you send me a cheat sheet? I need to climb outta the cellar this year…

Dennis Jones

Hey… I already told you Rex Grossman would be a great pick up for your team THIS season… he’s supposed to be the next Brett Favre…

Don Jones

I believe you can just let the AUTO DRAFTER kick in for you Douger and you’ll get the best players available according to their cheat sheets… I’m going with it. No use wasting any brain power on this… Dennis always wins anyhow. NFL Football is his Jones.

Dennis Jones

I’m using the Auto-Drafter… all I ever do is take the next highest guy on the list anyway… why not let the computer do all the work and then we can gripe, complain and blame the darn computer for our inevitable upcoming league failures…

Don Jones

It’s sort of an auto fantasy football league… no cost, no thinkin’, no problem. What fun!

Dennis Jones

…pretty much the same reasons I watch tv…

Doug Jones

I was going to auto draft all along… just trying to get some chatter going…. We could just flip a coin and see who wins the season. That’d be even more better!

As pathetic as it may sound, I was all excited to watch the hometown Indianapolis Colts play a little preseason football last night. I only watched the first quarter. The Colts ran a grand total of 6 plays during that time while the Vikings drove the ball up and down the field at will. I shut the TV off in disgust, went upstairs and painted this fishmonger.

And, yes… he’s disgusted with the Colts defense, too.

NFL Preseason… I just don’t feel it this year. I am curious about the Chiefs and their Patriot-imported QB… Not sure if I can stand to watch an entire game at this point. Where’s Lenny when you need him?

Dan Lietha

I liked the Vikes vs Colts game! Of course it makes a difference that I am a Vikings fan. The Colts usually don’t place winning preseason games as a priority, do they? The sad thing is my Vikes have not seemingly placed winning games during the regular season as a priority. So at the end of this upcoming regular season, you may still end up happy and me, not so much.

Dennis Jones

…hey, I think the Vikings got the real deal when they picked up Sage Rosenfels in the off-season… that guy literally shredded the Colts last season and the Texans should have won that game except Rosenfels decided to run for a first down in the fourth quarter, jumped up in the air, got smacked real hard, spun around in the air three times, lost the ball and the game… but seriously, before that he looked great… really!

is about the egles mike vike

…I’m pretty sure that was a hot sports opinion… I’m just not exactly sure about what…

Dan Lietha

Just saw this on a Vikings web site: The loss Friday to the Vikings was the 17th time in the last 20 preseason games that the Colts have lost. Considering they have won 12 or more regular season games each of the last six years, it begs the question just how important is winning preseason games? To Colts, not very important.

Dennis Jones

…hey Dan, I’ve really only been a Colts fan since I moved to Indiana… I grew up in Missouri and my favorite team has always been the Kansas City Chiefs… so keeping in mind that we are around the same age, all I have to say is…

SUPERBOWL ‘69… Vikings-Chiefs… SCOREBOARD!!!

JEFF

I don’t have to worry about it. Dallas has been mathmatically eliminated from NEXT years playoffs… And I believe the young Chelessa was talking about the Eagles new theme song “Who let the Dogs Fight” Who who who?

Dennis Jones

…hey, at least Dallas has a brand new multi-gajillion dollar football stadium where you can go watch the game on a gigantic TV screen!

JEFF

No I’m helping pay for it so that means I will NEVER be able to afford to go. I want to build the largest stadium, make millions of dollars per year and I want the city of Arlington to pay for it.. and they said yes. WHAA?

JEFF

By the way.. This would make a great background for my aquarium… Do ya mind?

Dennis Jones

…I would be honored to have my artwork grace your fine aquarium…

…and I feel your pain on footing the bill for that new football stadium… I had the privilege of helping to pay for the Rangers new stadium when I was temporarily a Texan…

Paul Taylor

Nice….now you know how I feel when I watch my beloved Buckeyes play in a bowl game. Nice work Dennis. By the way, years back I remember seeing a George Washington sketch you had done. Was that for a book or just for fun?

Doug Jones

Brett Favre has just signed a deal to replace Paula Abdul on American Idol… you read it here first!

Jon Slone

I’ve got a hilarious pic for you to try, maybe in your doodle book. One of the all time greats is Gene Wilder. Try a Dennis Jones rendition of him and his wild hair from 1971’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! Your take on that genius should be fun to peruse!

JEFF

The only thin Jerry Jones needs to build is a few viable liver cells. Hic,,Burp,,

JEFF

Thing…sorry, it looks like I’m the one who’s been drinking.

Coats Win Again

November 9, 2009

HoustonTexans

The Houston Texans road into town and almost beat our beloved Indinaplis Coats again… almost. They have almost beat the Coats here for the last seven years.

Jeff

YEEEE HAAAAAAAAAA! And the Dallas Plowboys snatched another victory out of the jaws of defeat… The only consistant part of their game is inconsistancy.

Dennis Jones

…that was quite the dogfight they had there in Philly…

Jeff

Yes it was, but when you watch them there is never a point you can turn the channel because you KNOW they will win. Last time I did that,, They lost. Go Figure. By the way where is the little guys Shootin Iron?

Nik

That was sooo great, Eagles didn’t have any time outs left!!!

Jeff

Dennis, Im embarrassed, Dog Fight, Michael Vick.. That was a great pitch and I missed it.. Sorry.

Dennis Jones

…woo …a crazy day. …right after posting this I ended up driving down to Indianapolis for a day of miscellaneous stuff…

…Jeff, I did a job that needed a great big word with a little tiny cowboy riding on it, so I did the word and the cowboy separately, and then put them together in Photoshop… this is the cowboy part of that and the publisher for this particular project would not have wanted a shiny pair of six shooters on his hips, so, there’s your answer…

…by the way… if you look real close, you might even see a little bit of a resemblance to a fabulous Rangers hockey jersey from way back when…

Jeff

I see it….I still have one just no way to put a picture up.. That is a great Jersey.

Dennis Jones

Dennis Jones

Jeff

Yup thats the crazy little High Stickin Rascal…. That was one seriously sponsored team.

Jeff

Was that Peters Jersey or yours??

Dennis Jones

…that ones mine… hey, I don’t think you ever saw the goalie helmet I did for that jersey… give me a second and I’ll load a picture of it up here for you…

Dennis Jones

Dennis Jones

…the helmets a little beat up now… I played goal in a men’s league in Fort Wayne when I first moved up here and would occasionally show up in my Ranger jersey and helmet for practice…

…I kinda quit doing that because it seemed to be way too much fun for the guys to aim at my head when the fancy helmet was on…

Jeff

It’s called shot placement practice…LOL Dont take it personal.. Great Helmet!

Nik

That is really cool helmet!!!
