Our old Brother Jones buddy Tami Otterstatter wrote the best George Washington and his horse story for me a few years back, but we just could not get any traction on getting it published. This is a picture I did around then. Perhaps it’s time to drag that idea back out of the closet and give it another try.

…doin’ my best from memory…

Don Jones

Giddy-up! Glad to see you’re back in the Huntington saddle.

roballoo

You can draw horse heads so well you didn’t have to sketch it, eh? That’s good!

Dennis Jones

…I kinda ran outa room in the sketchbook on the horse…

Doug Jones

you’ve heard of the headless horseman? This is the horseless headsman…

Dennis Jones

Don… have you heard Donald Fagens new album… I mean… CD… “Morph The Cat”?… wow… some really great tunes on that one…

Don Jones

Thanks for the heads-up. I’ve been listening non-stop to Ricky Skaggs for the past 3 months and need to get some variety in my audio diet. Fagen is ALWAYS stupendously good.

Dennis Jones

…my favorite tracs are “H Gang” and “What I Do”…

Mark Behm

I love this piece. Great rhythm to the whole thing.

Dennis Jones

…well Mark, I finally got Painter 9 last week and am now watching the tutorials trying to get the interface down… sure wish I could sit in on one of your “how to” classes…

Don Jones

I had a little over 3 bucks in change left in my iTunes account so I sprung for 3 tunes from a fellow Don: Morph the Cat; The Great Pagoda; & What I Do. A great bargain for 20 minutes of listening pleasure.

Dennis Jones

DONALD… H Gang is probably the best song on the CD… what were ya thinkin’…

Don Jones

I did a quick precursory listen to the tunes and went the VALUE root… that is… buy the songs which were longest in length. I am about 60 cents short for another purchase.

Dennis Jones

…what a wonderful morning I’m having… I get out of bed, fire up the email and there’s a message from Mac telling me my G4 PowerBook has an exploding battery in it… great… as if I don’t have enough to deal with today as is…

Don Jones

Didn’t Neil Diamond have a tune titled “September Morning?” or maybe it was… “Exploding Power Brick…”

Doug Jones

I suggest you have a bag of marshmallows handy just in case….

Dennis Jones

..if terrorists attack Huntington, Indiana I’ll be throwing my exploding laptop at them…

Doug Jones

and don’t forget to hold your breath as you run through the nerve gas, Jack

Summer Pilgrimage

July 18, 2007

itunes1itunes2

I began a pilgrimage this last April. It is musical pilgrimage. It is my quest to listen to all 3500 songs in my I-tunes library before the end of the summer and throw as many songs away as possible. How did I end up with 3500 songs in my I-tunes library? I have absolutely no idea. I’ve never even heard of some of these songs. When I discovered there were 168 songs that start with the letter “a” alone, I realized I had a gigantic task ahead of me. I am currently at the letter “i” and the summer is rapidly coming to a close, but my crusade continues to march forward.

Another post, wow. I don’t have an ipod. I still use casettes. I like the old school still.

Doug Jones

I’m not positive on this, but I think that “Hard Days Night” you have may be a cheap copy… I’d say dump it.

Dennis Jones

HEy… that is a classic version of that song! I think I even have it loaded into my Nano…

Don Jones

Carry on my wayward son There’ll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest You’re at the “i”s no mo….

Roballoo

Hey you’ve got some Paolo Conte! He’s way cool ~ And thats an even way cooler song.

Dennis Jones

…Happy Feet by Paolo Conte always makes me feel good… of course, so does Happy Feet by Kermit The Frog…

Roballoo

Does kermie sing his song in Italian too?

Doug Jones

give us something GOOD to look at for the next 2 weeks…

Dennis Jones

…hope you guys enjoy tomorrows post…

…day… after day… after day… after day…

Doug Jones

I’m already tired of it… hey… fake an illness and just stay home and make cool sock creatures…

Don Jones

Don’t they have FREE Wi-Fi in Romania’s StarBucks? I’d like you to post your swanky sermon notes for review and analysis.

Dennis Jones

…I’m pretty sure I’m going to be able to weasel out of that obligation because I don’t think anyone remembers that thing but you two… if not… well.. uhm… yikes…

Don Jones

IF pressed into preaching. just give ‘em the 10 Commandments. That will get ‘em upright in the pews.

Doug Jones

I think you should prepare a sermon based on Judges 1:6. It would be a very memorable talk. Maybe illustrate it with some drawings.

I enjoy looking at artist’s work over on Blogger. I think it’s because I can dial into the front page of someone’s site and see several pieces of artwork on it without having to navigate through a ton of pages searching for it. With that in mind, I snagged a bunch of illustrations that I have previously posted here at Brother Jones and slapped them together on a Blogger page. Same old artwork, now in one convenient place.

Gosh… I hope Keegan doesn’t hear about this….

Don Jones

I like what you’ve done in your place… tasteful new sidebars… the gradient behind the DJ-ART logo is… what’s the word I’m looking for? Swanky!?

Dennis Jones

…as I was looking through my Brother Jones folder for artwork to post on Blogger I realized the majority of things I post here are pictures of vegetables, lawnmowers and our heads photoshopped onto movie posters…

Don Jones

You mean the good stuff…

Doug Jones

I want my head photoshopped on a vegetable.

Doug Jones

Hey… are you still working your way through your iTunes music list?

Dennis Jones

…yes… I am currently on M’s… specifically, Mr. Downtown, Mr. Flutter, Mr. Greedyman, Mr. Powell, Mr. Roboto, Mr. Webster, Mr. Wilson, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Vanderbilt, etc….

Doug Jones

ooo…. just the mention of Mr Downtown gets the tune stuck in my head…
