Dan In Real Life

DanInRealLife

I come from a fairly large family, (six brothers and sisters) and when we all go home to see each other it’s always an interesting event. If you want to know what it looks like when all the Jones brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and grand-kids get together for a holiday, go see the movie, “Dan In Real Life”. It’s a neat little movie and I left feeling like I had just attended a Jones Family Christmas.

The music in the movie was so good, Karen and I immediately went across the street to Walmart when it was over and bought the movie soundtrack. The music is all done by Sondre Lerche. I had never heard of him. He looks like he’s just a kid, (I think he’s from Norway or something). Try downloading his song “To Be Surprised” to get a feel for the music. I think I will have it playing in the background at the next Jones Family Hoo Ha.

Hey… I’ve been curious about this move… thanks for the thumbs up recommendation I also have to see Bee Movie. I saw Seinfeld on a little commercial for the show singing the song from Super Chicken and now I can’t get it out of my head…

Dennis Jones

…there was a trailer for the Bee Movie at Dan In Real Life and the dialogue sounded pretty clever….

Jason Bourne

I might see Bee Movie too. I really want to see Dr.Suess’ Horton Hears a Who. Thats going to be sooo awesome.

Don Jones

Do you journey up to Fort Wayne to attend movies?

Dennis Jones

…we did on this one…

Don Jones

Speaking of new music, after reading in the USA Today that The Eagles had a new CD out today … available only at Wal-Marts… I navigated over and picked it up. 20 Tracks… at least it has quantity.

Doug Jones

If you want good music, just go HERE and listen to the theme song.

Jason Bourne

Super Chicken, ahh, thats funny. Also try Muppet Matrix. If you want to burn some calories.

Doug Jones

Hey, we went to the movie yesterday afternoon. See what incredible influence you have! It was really good. So was the music. Didn’t go to Wally world for the soundtrack, but I do have a desire for some burned pancakes…

Dennis Jones

…doesn’t it kinda seem like you spent the weekend with those folks?

Doug Jones

Yeah… we need a big house in Mtn. Grove that is near the ocean. We could add some football to the game playing and also some brother punching. That would be fun.

Dennis Jones

…I noticed they substituted the dupe bridge game for some sort of crossword puzzle competition…

Doug Jones

yeah… that would make my brain swell. Marla could lead the morning exercise class…

Dennis Jones

…and I could watch from the back porch!

Doug Jones

I’ll be sleeping in with the washing machine…

Dennis Jones

…it would be nice to work Don into a little of that singing around the piano making fun of people we know kinda thing this year…

Doug Jones

this is a good set up, Den… roll out your punchline now…

Dennis Jones

…ok… there ya go… how’d ya like that?

Doug Jones

hmmm…. seemed like a good time to mention the bobbing for French Fries…

Don Jones

pretend this is being sung… “How ‘bout Uncle Melvin, hitched around by his thumb, Checkin’ out the Okie chicks, Good golly bum!”

Dennis Jones

…oh …yep, Doug, I see what you mean… that would have been much better than the disappearing magic trick I performed… it’s hard to interpret what’s actually being said on these comments sometimes… well… most of the time…

Doug Jones

bobbing for fries is one of our signature comedy schticks

Dennis Jones

…I know… it’s about the only good thing we have left… and I fumbled it all away… oh, the humanity of it all…

Don Jones

How was trick or treating in your neighborhood? Our neighbors were up to their old shenanigans… passing out meth to the little tricksters.

Dennis Jones

…we’ve lived out here for 7 or 8 years (more or less) and we have never had a trickertreater come to our door… ever… of course, we do always turn off all the house lights and play the scary Phantom Of The Opera song with loudspeakers from the front porch, but I don’t think that has anything to do with it…

Doug Jones

I had the porch light on and stood in the door a couple of times and watched as trickortreaters walked down the street and stopped at other houses but passed mine by. Not many visitors at all… I have LOTS of chocolate left over…

Dennis Jones

…we haven’t even bought Halloween candy in several years… and I’m pretty upset about that because I always got to eat it all…
