…experimenting with brushes I found on the web…

Hey, RobalLOO… you asked for it, you got it!

Just my way of saying… well… no hard feelings after that vicious election campaign we ran against each other last summer.

…( you should have known better than to bring that divisive asparagus issue into the campaign )…

I’m glad that our Brother Jones customer service desk is in full operation. Dennis, an awesome request fulfillment here. Take the rest of the day off.

Doug Jones

I’m really glad to see that Yoder is ridding the forest of those pesky Raiders…

Dennis Jones

…may the Chiefs be with you…

Don Jones

How ‘bout those Titans?

Dennis Jones

…the force is not with them this season…

roballoo

So that’s what asparagus looked like a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away. Thanks! I’m willing to put down my asparagus and declare a truce.

Doug Jones

there is now a website created by mad fans who want to fire Coach Fisher. What’s the official BrotherJones take on the T.O. deal?

Don Jones

T.O. is just cookin’ up a little attention for himself.

Cedric Hohnstadt

Love the texture you get from those brushes. Where did you find them, might I ask? And can ya order your Yoder to yodel? (Betcha can’t say that five times fast).

Dennis Jones

…when I said I was experimenting with some brushes I found on the web… well… they were really more of a stamp than a brush… they are what I made the vines with and I cant remember where I found them… I just Googled up “free photoshop brushes” and started looking around…

…if you were talking about the brushes I rendered Yoder with, those are just the dry media brushes that are standard in Photoshop…

Cedric Hohnstadt

Thanks Dennis. I like all of it, but I was especially wondering about the loose texture dabs in the lower left quadrant. Guess I’ve got a lot of practicing to do with Photoshop.

Dennis Jones

…the big circles are a stipple brush… I know that one… the stuff right above it might be a sponge or a brush on texture… I have really only been doing these for a couple of weeks now and am still in the process of trying to find the brushes that work for me, so I haven’t done it long enough to remember what is what right now…

My opening comments above referred to an election that was being held on my little brother Don’s blog page, so I have reposted it below.

The Polls are Open

2006_08_10_TomatoKing

Today is the official 2006 Brother Jones Election day. Dennis has been nominated by Doug to run for Tomato King and I have been appointed his campaign manager. He needs your vote to ensure a victory garden. Not sure who is running against but I’m sure his upcoming speech and subsequent victory party will be tremendous. Remember, vote early and often. Polls are open until 7 p.m.

I just cracked open the ballot box and had to toss out a few ballots. They were write-in votes for Roballoo.

Dennis Jones

…that’s just the sort of thing you can expect out of that guy… but will he promise to do extensive research into home made tomato catsup recipes like I will? I THINK NOT!! But I will promise to do that RIGHT HERE AND NOW! In fact, I am willing to promise to do anything to be elected to this position…

…I will get a nice benefit package with this position, wont I?

Doug Jones

Anyone who can grow a ‘mater big enough to wear on their head like that, deserves to be Tomato King!

I’m Doug Jones and I approve this message.

Don Jones

I was just notified by the Brother Jones Advisory Bored that you can only hold one office at a time. Den, it’s either Tomato King or Gourd King. Which will it be? (Our exit pollsters await your answer.)

Dennis Jones

…my opponent for Tomato King (who shall remain unnamed-alloo), has been running a scurrilous ad campaign claiming I use hundreds of lab animals in my tomato research kitchens… Thats a LIE! We use just a very limited number of lab animals for tomato recipe testing… and this only to perfect the taste of our tomato products for you, the valued consumer…

“A tomato in every pot and a gourd for every tot.”

“From Paste to Waste… The Tomato King Grows ‘em right!”

Dennis Jones

…my opponent accuses me of not having an agenda to run on… I HAVE AN AGENDA… as soon as I am elected Tomato King I will immediately disband the Brother Jones Advisory Board and get rid of the silly rule about one person not being able to hold both Gourd King and Tomato King offices…

Banshee

What?! Disband the Brother Jones Advisory Bored… it sounds like he intends to become a Dictator if he is elected. If he wants to be a ‘tator, maybe he thinks this is about becoming the Potato King?

Unable to repudiate the above scurlious remarks due to an infestation of flyng termits in my abode(it’s true!). I blame the Gourd King and I intend to prove it. I demand a recount.

If duly elected I will put a stalk of asparagus in every refrigerator!

…do you really think we can trust some nut from California to be our new Tomato King? I think not…

Simple Computer Color Day 2

July 13, 2007

1girlcolored

This morning before I got busy with work, I tried doing simple computer color on a pencil sketch once again. This one got me a bit closer to where I am hoping to go… I think. I don’t really want an airbrushed look like this one has, but hopefully, one of these days I’ll find that magical Photoshop brush I’m searching for. My ultimate goal is to be able to scan pencil drawings from my sketchbook into the computer and slam color onto them real fast.
